2011 to 2012.

2011 was such a great year. It’s already mid-January, but I feel like I haven’t really gotten a change to reflect on it all. I guess it’s because this past month I’ve been caught in a transition between the weekly grind of work to the addition of school. Change is always intimidating. Especially with the added stress of making everything work financially.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned in 2011 it’s that despite any worries or troubles I may have, it can never be as bad because I’ll never have to go through it alone.

I want to spend 2012 making the best out each and everyday. Even when I’m stressed and down in the dumps, there’s always something and someone in my life that I can end the day being thankful for.

Saw Moneyball today. It was really good. This song from the film covered by Kerris Dorsey who played Brad Pitt’s daughter definitely echoes my sentiments exactly.

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle.
Life is a maze. And love is a riddle.
I don’t know where to go.
Can’t do it alone I’ve tried.
And I don’t know why.

I’ve got to let it go and just enjoy the show.

I feel like I’ve neglected my personal blog for most of the year. I’ve always thought that it’s easier to write out of necessity when your mind is preoccupied with things that have no other outlet. My posts have become more “Tumblr-esque” in a way. Random pictures and videos with some sort of sentimental value. I’m not complaining. It’s nice to not have anything in particular to vent about or brood over.

From my family, friends, and amazing girlfriend to this new job that I complain about more than I should, I’m so thankful for everyone and everything that I have. Life has been busy and time moves so quickly, but it has been nothing short of a blessing.

To continue my “tumblr-esque” way of posting, two songs that have pretty much represented my life this past month and a half.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon.

I grew up with Transformers when I was little. The cartoon was one of my favorites. The Christmas morning when I got my own Optimus Prime was one of my most memorable. I love these movies. I’m happy to say that I’ve grown up with them in my young life as well. The first came out while I was leaving high school. The second during college. Now, the third at the onset of becoming an adult. I’ve been able to relate my life phases with Sam Witwicky’s. (Minus the transforming cars and robots, of course.) No Megan Fox was a bummer, but I was happy to see Sam end up so happy. Especially because I’ve been able to find similar happiness that I thought wasn’t possible before. I’m happy to see Transformers go out with a bang (that actually goes for any Michael Bay film).

Already can’t wait to see it again.

I feel like I haven’t updated with anything legitimate in so long. Because I’ll be honest, I’m only ever in the deeper and more contemplative states when I’m not in the best of moods. And what can I say? Life is great.

There’s nothing to complain about (and I really shouldn’t be complaining about anything in the first place). School is manageable. My post-grad plans are gradually coming together, and if they don’t then I’m comfortable with the idea that it won’t be the end of the world. I love my family. I love my friends. Day after day I’m blessed with so many good things that it makes me wonder how I ended up being so lucky. My resolution of making more of an effort to look at everything with a positive attitude has definitely lead to so many positive things, and I haven’t been this happy in a long time.
